Summary
The production of a multi-view sports broadcast is a complex and expensive endeavor. Currently, it requires production trucks with specialized equipment and highly collaborative teams that have access to individual cameras, switch between them, generate clips for replays and apply graphical layers. We propose a simple and inexpensive virtual reality alternative “Broadercasting” that leverages the large field of view, offers intuitive interactions and allows teams to collaborate without physical co-presence. We conducted an expert review study and found that professional broadcasters were able to collaborate and produce a broadcast entirely within the headset.

Mike assisted Hisham Bedri in his Broadercasting project by changing some visuals and by making some tweaks to boost the performance (steady >90 FPS for the HTC Vive), resulting in a better user experience. Mike is also contributing to the collaboration functionality.
